Online Admission Guide
How to Apply Online?

Prepare the documents & create an account in our portal.
First of all you have to create an account ( by choosing your username and password ) in our portal.
You will use this account to fill up the application form(s), to make payment and at the time of admission.
To register you will need to fill in all your information and upload the necessary documents.
- You will need to enter your own Gmail address. (We will use this address for future communications).
- You will need to enter your & your guardian’s mobile number & WhatsApp Number (We will use these to send SMS notices for various events).
The required scanned documents are:
- Passport size picture
- Signature.
- Marks sheet (Class 12).
- Admit Card (Class 10) / Or any other age proof.
- Physically Challenged certificate (If applicable).
- Caste Certificate (If applicable).
- BPL Certificate (If applicable).
The images should be clear and easy to understand. Blurry and erroneous uploads will result in application getting cancelled.

Understanding the Eligibility Criteria & Available Subject Combinations.
After your account is ready you will now have to apply for the subject that you want to study.
However, before applying you must read the eligibility criteria for the subject that you want to apply for.
Once you have decided on a subject & have checked out the eligibility criteria, you will need to decide on the additional subjects that you want to study along with your main Honours or General course.

Applying for your Course
Once you have read all the rules and regulations linked above, you are now ready to apply for your subject. Go to the page Student Dashboard and click on the Choose Subject button.
You will be taken to a page where you can select which course you want to apply for.
Select the subject that you want to apply for fill up the form that appears.

Form Fill Up and Additional Subjects Selection.
Once the form for your desired course loads, you will be asked to fill in the marks of your class 12 exam.
To explain the steps, we’ll assume that you are applying for B.A Honours in English. (The other courses are also similar, in case of any difference they will be mentioned in the application page of that course.)
The form is usually divided into four main sections.
- The first section is about the Honours course that you have selected. Since you are applying for English honours, you will need to enter the marks you got in English Literature in 12th Standard Exam. ( In some courses you may not be required to fill this section of the form, refer to the eligibility criteria of your subject for more details. )

- The second section is about the Best Four Subjects in your mark-sheet.
- Here you will need to enter the marks of your four highest scoring subject. ( Note: We do not accept the marks of certain subjects in this section ).
- If your honours course subject ( English in our example) is also one of your best four subject then enter that here as well.
- Once you fill those in you will see that the form will auto calculate the total and percentage of your best four subjects. Verify these before proceeding.

- The third section is about the marks of your Remaining Subjects. Fill in the marks of your remaining subject on your marks-sheet.
- The last two fields are not compulsory, only use those if you had more than six subjects in your mark-sheet.
- If you had environmental science in your mark-sheet, you can add it here.

- The fourth section is where you will select your additional subjects.
- For each course you will need to select two additional subject along with your main course. (1st Generic Subject & 2nd Generic Subject)
- You will study these two subjects throughout the first year of your college.
- The additional subjects are further divided into four categories.
- GE1 & GE2. (1st & 2nd Semester)
- GE3 & GE4 (3rd & 4th Semester)

- In case of English Honours we offer the following combinations.
- Philosophy & Political Science.
- Philosophy & Sociology.
- Political Science & Sociology.
- Sociology & Hindi.
- We’ll select the first option for our example.
- Now that we’ve selected the two additional subjects, we will need to select the order in which we’ll study them (i.e; GE1, GE2, GE3, GE4). Click on the subject name that you want to study, in the drop-down fields that appear when as you fill up the forms.
- Next you will to select the AECC (Compulsory language subject) that you want to study.
- We offer three choices for all the courses.
- Communicative English
- Bengali
- Hindi

- For each course you will need to select two additional subject along with your main course. (1st Generic Subject & 2nd Generic Subject)

Complete Submission
After carefully filing up the entire form, click on Submit Application button to finish your application.
If there is no error in your application, you will be taken back to the Student Dashboard on submission.
If you followed all the steps then your application will show up in this page. You can download your application form from here as well.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE APPLICATION PROCESS!
(Your application will not be valid until you pay the application fees)
Eligibility Criteria
Read about the eligibility criteria for each subject below. Click on a subject name to read it’s eligibility criteria.
FOR General Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 40%.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- The applicant needs to have passed class 12 Examination.
FOR General Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 40%.
- If Computer Science is selected as a generic subject then
- The candidate must have had Mathematics in Class 12 with minimum 30%.
- She must have passed in either Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- The applicant needs to have passed class 12 Examination.
- If Computer Science is selected as a generic subject then
- The candidate must have had Mathematics in Class 12 with minimum 30%.
- She must have passed in either Physics/ Statistics/ Computer Science.
FOR General Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 45%.
- Candidates must have had at least Accountancy or one of the Related Subject in their 12th Standard.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
The applicants needs to meet the below criteria:
- The applicant needs to have passed class 12 Examination.
FOR General Categories:
If student is from Commerce stream then the applicants needs to meet both the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Accountancy / Related Subject is 50%
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 50%.
If student is from Science stream then the applicants needs to meet both the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Mathematics / Statistics / Economics is 50%
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 50%.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
If student is from Commerce stream then the applicants needs to meet either of the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Accountancy / Related Subject is 40%
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 40%.
If student is from Science stream then the applicants needs to meet either of the below criteria:
- Minimum marks needed in Mathematics / Statistics / Economics is 40%
- Minimum marks needed in Best of Four Subject is 40%.
FOR General Categories:

- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 45% in Bengali.
- You can apply if both of the above two criteria are met.
FOR SC/ST Categories:

- Minimum of 30% in Mathematics.
You can apply if all three of the above criteria are met.

- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
OR
- Minimum of 40% in either Computer Science or Physics or Statistics.
FOR General Categories:

- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.

- You can apply if both of the above two criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Education or Related Subjects in your class 12th Exam
FOR SC/ST Categories:

- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 40% in Education or History or Economics or Philosophy or Sociology or Mathematics or Political Science or Psychology.
- You can apply if either of the above two criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Education or Related Subjects in your class 12th Exam.
FOR General Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 45% in English.
You can apply if both of the above two criteria are met.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 40% in English.
You can apply if any of the above two criteria are met.
FOR General Categories:
These are the main criteria:
- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 45% in Nutrition/ Biology.
- Minimum of 45 in Chemistry [pass in theory (min. 24) & practical (min. 8)].
You can only apply if all of the above criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Nutrition or Biology in your class 12th Exam.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Chemistry in your class 12th Exam.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
These are the main criteria:
- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects OR Minimum of 40% in Nutrition/ Biology.
- Minimum of 45 in Chemistry [ pass in theory (min. 24) & practical (min. 8) ]
You can only apply if all of the above criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Nutrition or Biology in your class 12th Exam.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Chemistry in your class 12th Exam.
FOR General Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 45% in Geography.
You can only apply if both of the above two criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Geography in your class 12th Exam.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 40% in Geography.
You can only apply if either of the above two criteria are met.
You cannot apply if you didn’t have Geography in your class 12th Exam.
FOR General Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 45% in History (If history was taught in class 12).
You can apply even if you did not have History in your class 12th Exam.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
There are two main criteria:
- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
- Minimum of 40% in History.
- You can apply if either of the above two criteria are met.
You can apply even if you didn’t have History in your class 12th Exam.
FOR General Categories:
- Minimum of 50% in Best of Four Subjects.
FOR SC/ST Categories:
The main criteria is:
- Minimum of 40% in Best of Four Subjects.
FOR General Categories:

Maharani Kasiwari College offers multiple combinations for each subject that you can choose from.
In Honours courses, you will have to select two additional subjects:
- 1st Generic Subject
- 2nd Generic Subject
Each course offers multiple combinations. You will be studying these two subjects over the course of the next two years.
- You will study these two subjects throughout the first & second year of your college.
- The additional subjects are further divided into four categories.
- GE1 & GE2. (1st & 2nd Semester)
- GE3 & GE4 (3rd & 4th Semester)
